EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – East St. Louis Police are looking for the man who ran down a woman crossing the street and killed her — in broad daylight.
It happened around 12:30 Wednesday at the intersection of Martin Luther King and Louisiana.
Chief Michael Floore says the man blew through the intersection striking Yvette Hart of East St. Louis. She was then dragged about a half a block before she fell off the truck. Floore says that’s when the truck ran over Hart as he fled from the scene.
Hart was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The incident was caught on camera.
Police are looking for a 1990 F150 truck, two-tone in color, light grey on bottom, with extended cab and front end damage.
Police believe the vehicle has Illinois plates.
The driver is described as either a light-complected black man or a white man.
