CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting that left a Rock Hill police officer paralyzed.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 39-year-old George Jones was sentenced Monday. He was pleaded no contest to assault and other charges at trial in July.
Rock Hill officer Matt Crosby was wounded in April 2010 while responding to a domestic disturbance call. A bullet struck Crosby in the left shoulder and lodged in his spine, leaving him paralyzed.
