Teen Fatally Stabbed in East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — Police in East St. Louis say an 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a dispute with another man, whom authorities arrested as he allegedly was returning with a shotgun.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Michael Barton of East St. Louis died at a Belleville hospital shortly after being repeatedly stabbed early Monday.

There’s no immediate word on any charges.

Police Chief Michael Floore says police dispatched to an East St. Louis home about a reported fight found Barton bleeding. He says authorities arrested the suspect after he returned to the home with a shotgun.
