EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - An East St. Louis woman has pleaded guilty to collecting her mother’s Social Security benefits for 18 months after her mother had died.
Lawanda Lewis admitted to fraudulently receiving nearly $23,000 that were intended for her mother.
She faces us to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
