Store Clerks Come to Missing Man’s Aid

HARTFORD, Ill. (KMOX) – A missing, elderly central Missouri man is being reunited with his family— thanks to some alert store clerks in Madison County, Illinois.

Vicki Sanders tells KMOX News the man wandered into her Casey’s General Store in Hartford, Sunday, and said he was lost.

Sanders says the clerks called Hartford police, and officers were able to find out where the man’s home is, “I’m so happy that he picked this station to come to, so we could help him. He looked about my Dad’s age. I just thank God we could help him, because what if that was my father?”

Sanders says police got in touch with the man’s family outside of Jefferson City, and they made plans to come get him.

She says the man had been missing for several weeks.
