FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KMOX) – Charges have been filed against a 28-year-old Centreville, Illinois man after he opened fire on police, hitting an officer in the hand.

Dallas McIntosh has been charged with two first-degree counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and five other counts stemming from the shootout.

Police say the officer was pulling over a suspicious vehicle and was walking back with the driver’s ID when that driver shot the officer. Other officers returned fire, hitting the suspect and leading to a car chase.

The chase ended in Centreville at Lake and Pershing when the suspect crashed into a garage. There was also a female passenger in the car. She has not been charged.
