ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) – St. Louis County police are on the lookout for a potential serial rapist targeting Asian women.
Lieutenant Tom Larkin says DNA evidence from a rape on September 19 matches that from a rape 17 months earlier that happened about five miles away. Both victims were Asian women, and both described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 40s, heavy set, with short hair and some facial hair.
“It is my understanding that there are incidents reported, multiple incidents reported in multiple places in this country, of the same type.”
So what happened in that 17 month time frame between incidents in St. Louis County?
“We’re investigating the possibility of incarceration and even the possibility of deportation,” Larkin said.
He says the bureau is also looking to three other states for help. Sexual assaults with suspects and victims with similar descriptions have popped up in New York, Maryland and California.
