Illinois Police Chase Ends in St. Louis Crash

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Two Brooklyn police officers escaped injury this morning when a suspect tried to ram their cruisers during a high-speed pursuit.

The chase started outside a Brooklyn housing project when the officers tried to pull over the suspect’s SUV because its plates didn’t match the vehicle.

When the suspect tried to get onto the McKinley Bridge an officer blocked his path, so the pursuit continued on I-64 across the Poplar Street Bridge.

Once in St. Louis, the suspect got off 64 at Kingshighway, then onto Fyler, and when trying to turn on to Lawn, hit a tree.

He tried to run but officers were able to chase him down and reportedly tased him before putting him in handcuffs.
