A small town in north central Illinois is about to get a two-hundred-million-dollar-a-year windfall.
The town of Thomson, Illinois got a state prison back in the 1990′s but then Illinois decided it couldn’t afford to use it.
Now the state has found a buyer.
The federal government is buying the Thomson Prison for 165-million dollars to house up to 16-hundred high-security convicts.
Over a thousand employees will be needed to run the prison.
The current population of the town of Thomson is just under 600.
