ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police say it began around 8 o’clock Wednesday night at a border patrol stop in the Texas town of Sierra Blanca.
There, sources tell KMOX that a 2007 black Provost tour bus holding local rapper Nelly and six other people was stopped for a routine search. What they found is .64 ounces of heroin, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, and over ten pounds of marijuana within a green duffel bag.
A source with the U.S. Border Patrol says Nelly and the others were detained but not arrested.
One of the occupants, Brian Keith Jones, allegedly admitted to being in possession of the drugs and gun. He was taken into custody and the others were released.
Nelly and the other passengers were sent on their way.
Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Rusty Flemming says Jones is scheduled for a bond hearing Friday night.
