The Belle of the Night, a restaurant riverboat that operated in the 1970s and 1980s in St. Louis, may be headed for the scrap yard.
The Post-Dispatch reports the four-deck barge was called the Belle Angeline when it was moored along Laclede’s Landing in downtown in the 1970s and 1980s.
The boat’s owner, Pete Tully, says he plans to sell the hull to a “recycler” if it isn’t sold at auction October 20th.
The next step would be to auction the boat’s furnishings and fixtures October 24th. Tully bought the boat in 2007.
Inside items up for auction include a zinc-lined bar, chandeliers, antique metal ceilings, tables, chairs and kitchen equipment. Most of the items were installed in 2002 when the riverboat was refurbished.
