ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - There’s a friendly wager in the works between Christ Church Cathedral in downtown St. Louis and an Episcopal Church in the San Francisco Bay area.
It hinges on the result of the NCLS between the Cardinals and Giants.
Dean Mike Kinman of Christ Church says both congregations are putting-up 10-percent of offering plate collections during the series.
“The winning team’s church will get to decide which ministry or charitable organization that money goes to,” Kinman said. “Also, on October 28, the losing team’s priest has to profess at their main service wearing the hat of the winning team.”
Kinman says each congregation is also coming up with a prayer, and the winning city’s version will be prayed at both cathedrals after the series.
