COLUMBIA, IL (KMOX) - Attorneys for the family of Sheri, Garett and Gavin Coleman have again filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Joyce Meyer Ministries.
A month after their previous suit against the ministry was thrown out for not being specific enough, the attorneys filed this time believing they have enough specifics to prove the ministry could have done more to prevent the murders of Sheri and the boys.
The suit contends that the ministry knew its security chief Chris Coleman was unhappy in his marriage, provided marriage counseling for Chris and Sheri, and that he was having an affair which, under ministry policy, could lead to his firing, and that threats were made to Chris and his family.
Chris was convicted of murdering Sheri, Garret and Gavin in their Columbia, Illinois home in May of 2009.
The ministry has claimed it had no legal obligation to protect the Colemans.
