Police Car Hits School Bus

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – No injuries reported after a Belleville Police squad car runs into the back of a school bus.

It happened in the 600 block of North 28th Street, around 7:30 Friday morning.

A Belleville police spokesman says there were five schoolchildren on the First Student bus, ages six to eleven.

He says the officer was travelling at a low rate of speed, he became “momentarily distracted,” and wet pavement contributed to the crash.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
