Three Charged In Burglary of 92-Year-Old Woman

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Two teenagers and a 21-year-old man have been charged in a pair of burglaries, including the burglary of a 92-year-old woman.

17-year-old Jalen Simms, 17-year-old Devion Gordon, and 21-year-old Juan Williams have each been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, theft, and felony resisting. In addition, Simms and Gordon were also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a defaced firearm.

The charges stem from three incidents Wednesday morning, occurring within an hour of each other.

At 10:42, the three allegedly broke into a home on the 5600 block of Bischoff. A 92-year-old resident awoke to sounds in her basement and found the suspects there, burglarizing the home. One of them brandished a weapon and all three fled in a stolen Chevy Impala.

At 10:55, according to police, the same three set off an alarm on the 1300 block of Louisville, stealing a TV.

Around 11:30, the three suspects and a fourth man fled during a traffic stop in the area of Lillian and Mimika. Shots were fired in the ensuing chase but no one was injured.

Police recovered three handguns and the stolen television at the scene.
