Woman Gets 16 Years for 3 Metro-East Robberies

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — A judge in East St. Louis has sentenced a 32-year-old woman to 16 years in federal prison for robbing three branches of “The Cash Store.”

Prosecutors say Chrice Shunta Combs of St. Louis was armed with a handgun and a knife during the 2010 robberies from the payday loan company. The branches Combs robbed were in Wood River, Highland and Chester. She pleaded guilty in July.

The judge on Thursday also ordered Combs to repay the more than $10,000 taken from clerks during the robberies.
