JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (KMOX) - With gasoline and diesel over three dollars a gallon, your probably wondering, as a state taxpayer, how much it cost MODOT to run that winter storm drill Tuesday.
With the snowplows, trucks and spreaders filling up for a combined 117,000 mile test drive, the cost was about $70,000 says Maintenance Engineer Beth Wright. She says it was all about getting to know the terrain.
“We went from ten district areas to seven district areas, so we need people on the roads where they would normally be to see if we have proper communications.” said Wright.
