ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Polls opened at 6 o’clock this morning and it didn’t take long for complaints to start rolling in.
“I got in line at 5:35 this morning and I did not cast my ballot until 6:30,” a caller to the Charlie Brennan Show said.
“I noticed that, instead of Barack Obama in the vote for President, Mitt Romney had popped up,” another said.
At least one other voter called to say that a candidate for state representative, Patrick Brennan, did not show up on their ballot in Overland.
Rita Heard Days, Democratic director for St. Louis County elections, says she’s perplexed by all of this but has a few tips for folks who have yet to cast a ballot.
“If you’re voting on the touch screen, make sure the paper trail, which is to the left of the machine, review that and make sure it is exactly how you want to vote,” Days said. “And if it is not, you can always cancel your vote and start over.”
She says after being made aware of the problems faced by callers to KMOX, she checked into those reports right away.
