This Saturday morning at 10:30 AM, the venerable Hi Pointe Theater, now celebrating its 90th year in St. Louis, will have a screening of Frank Capra’s Oscar-winning political drama from 1939, “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.” Admission is $5 per person.
The film stars Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur. Stewart plays a freshman Congress who learns about the inner-workings and corruption of Washington politics.
The film also stars Claude Rains as a career politician who is out to destroy Stewart’s character’s career.
I will be hosting the screening and introducing the film at 10:20 AM. For more information, click on the link below.
