TROY, Ill. (KMOX) - It’s not known yet what caused an O’Fallon Illinois woman to veer into oncoming traffic, Saturday afternoon, causing a fatal crash on Troy-O’Fallon Road.
The Madison County Coroner’s office says 56-year-old Geralyn Wolfersberger died from chest and abdomen injuries suffered in the wreck.
Sheriff’s department investigators say two women in the car struck by Wolfersberger’s suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Troy, IL–(KMOX)-A head-on collision Saturday near Troy, Illinois has claimed the life of a woman. Investigators say a northbound vehicle entered the southbound lanes of Troy-O’Fallon Road around 1:00 p.m. Saturday. That vehicle crashed head-on into another. The female driver of the first vehicle was killed, the two occupants of the second vehicle were treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
