O’FALLON, IL (KMOX) Investigators have now identified the the man killed in an early Saturday morning, head-on accident on I-64 near O’Fallon, Illinois.
State Police tell KMOX the victim is 37 year old Gerard Barney of O’Fallon, Il.
They say Barney’s Pathfinder was eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-64 near Greenmount Road at about 1:20 am, when it collided with a tractor-trailer. Both vehicles burst into flames.
The truck’s driver was not hurt. Investigators say the truck left 173 feet of skid marks, as the driver desperately tried to avoid the collision.
