ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - How will the face of medical care change now that the Affordable Care Act will continue to be implemented during President Obama’s second term?
For one, there should be more jobs in the health care industry.
Keith Elder is director of Health Policy at St. Louis University School of Public Health.
“There will be an additional need for pushing things like prevention and it’s a wonderful time to get into health care, especially for nurse practitioners and physician assistants,” Elder said.
Also looking to benefit are epidemiologists, nurses’ aides, psychologists, pharmacists and x-ray technicians. That’s in addition to a continuing doctor shortage.
