ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is looking to the state legislature to address some of his major priorities: quality public education, reducing crime and infrastructure resources.
Slay is also concerned with preserving St. Louis history.
“Tax credits is something that’s very important to us, Brownfield tax credits, to help us provide incentives for development and investment in the city and our urban core.”
And the Mayor is talking about the proposed China Hub at Lambert again.
“That’s something we’re going to be going to Jeff City to talk about,” Slay said. “The legislators themselves have to get their act together so they can work together and get something done rather than have the stalemate and nothing happen. Certainly we’re going to give it a try.”
Slay says he will work with anyone who can help at the state level.
“This is going to be an effort to find incentives for freight carriers to bring exporting products through the city of St. Louis,” Slay said. “This is not going to be related just to China, this is an international trade effort.”
