SWANSEA, IL.  (KMOX) – Fire  at the home of the Mayor of Swansea Illinois.   Firefighters were called to the home of Mayor Jim Rauckman on Ednick Drive in Swansea, but flames were already going through the roof.

The mayor and his family were not hurt and the mayor’s wife told KMOV on the scene that their 14 year old son started the fire accidentally.

He apparently threw some Ramen noodles that he’d burned on the stove, into a trash can outside next to the home.
