ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – One person is dead and two are critically injured in a Saturday morning fire in south St. Louis. Fire department spokesman Captain Dan Sutter tells KMOX News the blaze broke out just before five a.m. in the kitchen of the first floor unit of a two-story flat in the 3500 block of Giles.
Sutter says the victims were all on the first floor. A 41 year old man died, two women were taken to the hospital. One woman and two children on the second floor had working smoke alarms and escaped without injury. The names of the victims have not yet been released. Fire investigators continue to look for a cause of the fire.
