ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - What a day for Boy Scouts on both sides of the Mississippi River, Saturday.
Their annual “Scouting For Food” service project brought in tons of donations for local food pantries.
Officials with the BSA’s Greater St. Louis Council say more than 30,000 took part in the collection drive, picking up two million items.
The Belleville-based Lewis and Clark Council had 3,500 Scouts and Scouters going door-to-door, and they collected more than 360,000 items.
If you were missed on “Scouting For Food” day, there’s still time to make a donation. Officials with the Greater St. Louis Council say bags may be dropped off at any Regions Bank location through November 24th.
