ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Protestors around the country showed up at JP Morgan Chase offices yesterday in opposition to the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
At the Clayton office, about twenty people held signs and chanted in the hallway outside the office.
“We’re here today at JP Morgan because they’re one of the biggest financers of the pipeline and we’re here to say ‘Keystone affects all of us because climate change affects all of us,’” protestor Molly Gott said. “Here in Missouri, we had those crazy droughts all summer.”
In other cities the protests were marked by violence and arrests. Gott said there are plenty of people willing to be arrested for this cause.
“I think we’ll definitely be back around this pipeline. It’s not an issue we’re willing to fawn on and there will be arrests next time, people are willing to do that,” she said.
Workers in the Clayton office say they have nothing to do with the decision to finance the pipeline.
