St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch
ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - That undercover operation, where police are posing as pizza delivery drivers, appears to be an effective deterrent.
“We were out again over the weekend and we made multiple deliveries and there were no incidents in any of those deliveries,” St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch said.
In fact, there has not been a single pizza delivery robbery since the initiative began.
Two people were arrested when an officer approached and found them smoking marijuana but it was never determined if they planned to rob the officer. Chief Fitch said he has a message to those who robbers who think Thanksgiving might be their opportunity.
“We don’t take holidays and certainly a pizza delivery folks don’t take holidays,” he said. “We’re going to continue this initiative and continue to have those officers out there undercover, working throughout the week, on different days of the week and at different times.”
