BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) – A southwestern Illinois man who as a teenager admitted drunkenly causing a 2006 death is free on bond after being charged again with driving under the influence.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports 22-year-old Dan Polites was arrested early Friday and also was ticketed for driving without headlights, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic signal.

Polities pleaded guilty as a juvenile in 2007 in the death of Timothy Frazier, a passenger in a Mustang that Polites wrecked. Polites and another occupant were injured. In that case, Polites was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 180 hours of community service with orders that he pay $140,000 in restitution.

Polites got his driver’s license back in February.

Online court records don’t show whether Polites has an attorney.
