LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – A near head on collision early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a child, and left four others injured.

Highway Patrol investigators say a pick-up truck crossed the center line of highway 47 in Lincoln county and collided with a westbound car.

A nine year old Winfield boy was a passenger in that car. He was airlifted to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis where he died.

The boys parents, an eight year old sibling, and the truck driver were also hurt and are hospitalized.
