ST. CHARLES, MO. (KMOX) - A nine hour stand-off with police in St. Charles ended after tear gas was thrown into a home.
It started as a domestic dispute around 9:20 Thanksgiving morning. Police say 53 year old Ronald Hedge of Moscow Mills barricaded himself in the basement of a home in the 2000 block of McClay Road.
Family members told police he had several hunting rifles in the house.
Hedge had an active felony arrest warrant from Lincoln County against him for assault on a law enforcement officer. He had been talking with officials by phone for awhile, but then around 2:30 P.M. he stopped talking.
At 7:20 P.M. police threw tear gas into the home and stormed in. They found him hiding in a storage space in the basement.
