EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOX) – East St. Louis police are looking for a missing 47 year old man who family member have not seen since November 17th. ESL Police Chief Michael Floree says relatives reported Dewey Shy missing after he went for a walk and never returned.
The Chief says Dewy is a schizophrenic who takes six different medications on a daily basis and hasn’t had those medications since he went missing. Dewy’s family believes there may be foul play involved in his disappearance. Chief Floree says Shy has never gone missing before.
Shy’s family says he is only a danger to himself. Chief Floree says without his medication he could start talking to himself, become disillusion and combative.
Dewey Shy is described as an African-American male, 5’9″, 150 pounds, with brown eyes . He is pictured with a nearly bald head and a mustache and beard.
