ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two men face a slew of charges in connection with the burglary of a home on Chippewa last week.
Leland Hughes and Shawn Borders, both 21, face 44 charges between them, including burglary, robbery, kidnapping, rape and armed criminal action.
Police say the two robbed a home at gunpoint in the 3000 block of Chippewa Wednesday, raping an 18-year-old before fleeing with a television, laptop, printer, cash, and cell phones.
They then stole a vehicle and led police on a chase Friday before crashing it on the 5700 block of Natural Bridge. A gun and drugs were found in the stolen vehicle and three suspects remain on the loose.
Hughes has been charged with 25 felonies: one count of first-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree robbery, twelve counts of armed criminal action, three counts of kidnapping, two counts of theft, and one count each of forcible rape, sodomy, tampering with a vehicle, and resisting.
Borders faces a total of 19 felonies: one count of first-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree robbery, nine counts of armed criminal action, three counts of kidnapping, two counts of theft, and one count of resisting.
