PACIFIC, MO. (KMOX) – A police officer was hospitalized and a suspect shot, after a police chase that started in Franklin County.
Police spotted a man wanted in connection with a stolen car. They told him to get out of the car and on the ground.
One deputy reached through a window to try and get the keys. Thats when the suspect started the engine and drove off with the deputies arm wedged in the steering wheel.
He finally broke lose and fired a shot striking the suspect in the arm, but the suspect continued to speed down I-44 until he saw a roadblock near Pacific.
Thats where he stopped and turned himself in. The officer has since been released from a hospital.
