ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – How do Missouri and Illinois stack up when it comes to a new national ranking of safest hospitals?
Illinois has the seventh highest percentage of hospitals that received an A grade in this latest ranking by the Leapfrog Group.
51 hospitals in Illinois got A grades, that’s 43 percent of the hospitals in the state, including two in the Metro East.
Missouri comes in at number 21 nationwide with 18 Grade A hospitals, or 29 percent of the state’s total, including 9 in the St. Louis area.
Massachusetts had the biggest percentage with 83 percent of the hospitals in the state meeting Grade A standards.
New Mexico the lowest at 7 percent.
