GRANITE CITY, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in Granite City say they’ve made an arrest in the death of a pedestrian whose body was found along a southwestern Illinois road.
Police say more details about the case would come out Monday, when the case is scheduled to be presented to Madison County prosecutors.
Passing motorists found the body of 50-year-old Shari Watts of East Alton on Saturday along Illinois Route 3.
Investigators say they believe Watts was in the Brooklyn area the previous night seeking a ride home and that the hit-and-run accident that killed Watts may have happened several hours before her body was found.
