ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Some scary moments for a Florissant mother Tuesday evening.
At about 6:15 p.m. while running into a gas station at I-70 and Shreve, someone jumped into 21-year-old Tiara Smith’s car and took off with her 1-year-old daughter in the back seat.
A police officer who was around the corner saw it happen and began a chase. Another customer offered a ride to Smith and they followed police.
A few minutes later at Korte and Richard Place the suspect crash the car.
The baby was not injured and reunited with her mother, but in the commotion the suspect slipped away. He remains at large.
It’s the second time in less than a month that a car has been stolen with a baby inside. The last one happened November 14th in Imperial (read more).
