ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Stray Rescue founder Randy Grim was canvassing a north St. Louis neighborhood last week when he made a horrifying discovery.
Two dogs, one adult and one puppy, whose owner had apparently neglected them for up to a month.
Grim says one of Gary Miller’s mixed terriers was suffering from bleeding, open wounds on the face, body and legs, was malnourished and scored only a two on the one to nine ‘body condition’ scale.
The other dog, a mixed breed puppy, was emaciated and had skin liaisons and flea infestation.
Grim adds the one-month-old puppy was all but dead from starvation and felt like a feather when he picked it up.
Both dogs are expected to survive and are being nursed back to health at Stray Rescue, while their owner, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor animal neglect or abandonment.
