Who is dominating the holiday box office right now? Bond, James Bond. The latest in the secret agent series, “Skyfall,” is still a hot ticket even in its 5th week in release selling $11 million over the weekend and driving its total sales in North America up to $261.6 million. “Skyfall” is the 23rd film in the popular motion picture franchise.

In second place was “Rise of the Guardians.” The animated action hit came in second over the weekend with $10.5 million.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ came in third place with $9.2 million. After four weeks, the vampire film has taken in $268.7 million.

Steven  Spielberg’s “Lincoln” came in fourth place with $9.1 million followed by “Life of Pi” in fifth place with $8.3 million. For the balance of the box office numbers, click on the link below.

Opening next weekend in 3-D is another new film in a popular series, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” directed by Peter Jackson. At The Wehrenberg Galaxy Cine in Chesterfield and Ronnie’s Cine, the film will be shown in the new High Frame Rate technology which great enhances clarity and definition. Welcome back, Bilbo.
