Who is dominating the holiday box office right now? Bond, James Bond. The latest in the secret agent series, “Skyfall,” is still a hot ticket even in its 5th week in release selling $11 million over the weekend and driving its total sales in North America up to $261.6 million. “Skyfall” is the 23rd film in the popular motion picture franchise.
In second place was “Rise of the Guardians.” The animated action hit came in second over the weekend with $10.5 million.
“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ came in third place with $9.2 million. After four weeks, the vampire film has taken in $268.7 million.
Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” came in fourth place with $9.1 million followed by “Life of Pi” in fifth place with $8.3 million. For the balance of the box office numbers, click on the link below.
Opening next weekend in 3-D is another new film in a popular series, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” directed by Peter Jackson.
