ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Muslim taxi driver in St. Louis will seek damages against the city, the Metropolitan Taxicab Commission and Whelan Security.
Executive Director of the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, Faizan Syed says Raja Naeem did nothing more than wear religious attire.
“He has been fined , he’s been not allowed to drive a taxi cab, even recently he was arrested. Immagine being arrested because of wearing religious clothing” said Syed.
Syed says the lawsuit will seek damages and try to stop further harrassment. He plans a news conference Thursday to reveal details of the lawsuit.
At the news conference will be representatives from the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, the A.C.L.U-EM and the Law Offices of Drew C. Baebler.
