ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Officials now think they’ve solved the case of a dog that was dragged behind a pick-up truck on I-55 near the South Broadway exit.
The driver, Victor Washington, told police it was the dog he recently gave to his ex-wife’s daughter. Officials say it appears his ex-wife had her son take the dog back to Washington, but instead the boy tied the dog to Washington’s truck.
Washington told the Post Dispatch he doesn’t believe it was intentional animal abuse and doesn’t want anyone charged with the crime. Officials are still investigating whether it was accidental or willful.
The dog, which the Humane Society named “Trooper” continues to recover from his wounds.
