DENVER, Co. (KMOX)- A Colorado court finds a man guilty of the murder of a soldier from Columbia, Illinois.

Ricky Scott was convicted of first degree murder in the July, 2011 death of 25-year-old Sergeant Anthony DiSilva. DiSilva was shot near a Denver motel where he was staying. He was about to be discharged from the Army… and was waiting to meet his father so they could drive back home.

The Denver Post reports DiSilva’s mother received a text from her son just before police found him dead. His phone records revealed several calls and text messages to Scott the night of the shooting.
