CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis man was given two life sentences for the 2010 beating death of a family friend.
Thirty-four-year-old Robert L. Doll was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 27-year-old Jerome Brown.
Brown was found dead in June 2010 in his Wellston home. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports he was one of Doll’s close family friends.
Police have said robbery might have been the motive for the death of Brown, who was beaten with a mallet and a candlestick. Brown’s 2006 Cadillac STS was later found in Springfield.
