CAHOKIA, IL. (KMOX) – They expect such a large crowd at the funeral services for former St. Clair County Sheriff Mearl Justus, there will be a live simulcast at a Knights of Columbus Hall for the people who can’t get into the church on Saturday.
The Funeral is at 10 A.M Saturday December 22nd at Holy Family Church , 15 East Church Street, Cahokia Illinois. (At Rt. 3 and Rt. 157)
The Knights of Columbus Hall is at 100 East 5th Street in Cahokia. Once the church is filled, officials are asking the crowd to be respectful of the family and watch the live simulcast at the K.C. Hall.
Visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday December 20 and 21 at Holy Family Church. On Thursday visitation hours will be from 4:30 P.M. to 8 P.M. Visitation on Friday December 21st will be from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M.
Following the funeral on Saturday at 10 A.M. the funeral procession will travel to Valhalla Cemetary, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West, Belleville, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Program and Services for Older Persons and the Mearl J. Justus Scholarship fund at Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville.
Former Sheriff Mearl Justus died Tuesday afternoon. He had been in ill health. He retired just a week ago.
