ST. CHARLES (KMOX) – A man has been jailed after allegedly threatening to burn down a church, kill a pastor, and “fill the seas with Christian blood.”
Derek Michael Ficik, 26, of Maryland Heights, has been charged with one felony count of making a terrorist threat.
Police say Ficik called pastor Marc Sikma of Matthias’ Lot Church in St. Charles, threatening to burn down his church and put a bullet in the pastor’s head. He went on to threaten Christianity and Christians.
Sikma later told police that he was unable to sleep and considered canceling Matthias’ Lot’s Christmas concert. He claims the church received three separate threatening voice mail messages Sunday night.
Court records show Ficik is a practitioner of witchcraft and astro6 projection who believes demons tell him what to do and that he must obey. he attended the church on December 12 of this year as the guest of a regular attendee. He is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
