Raja, Popular St. Louis Zoo Elephant, Turning 20

ST. LOUIS (AP) — One of the most popular and certainly one of the biggest attractions at the St. Louis Zoo is celebrating a milestone birthday next week.

Raja the elephant turns 20 on Dec. 27. The zoo is honoring the occasion with a giant birthday cake for the bull elephant. It will be filled with some of his favorite things — cereal, melons, bananas, even popcorn. Other elephants from the herd are expected to join in the party.

Raja became a star attraction following his birth at the zoo in 1992. The five-ton elephant has since fathered three children.
