BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A man is jailed in southwestern Illinois on charges that he threatened a prosecutor.

A special appointed prosecutor has charged 58-year-old Norman Stuckey in St. Clair County with one count of threatening a public official.

St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly announced the charge in a statement but didn’t detail the threat the Alorton man allegedly made to one of Kelly’s assistant prosecutors, Benjamin Henning.

As a condition of his $50,000 bond, Stuckey has been ordered to surrender any of his firearms to the sheriff’s department.

His background includes convictions of domestic battery, unlawful use of a shotgun and unlawful use of a weapon.

Stuckey wasn’t reachable Friday. He does not have a listed home telephone number, and online court records don’t show whether he has an attorney.
