Mayor Francis Slay
St. Louis, MO (KMOX)–Vice President Joe Biden held a conference call with 12 U.S. mayors on Friday to talk about how to reform the nation’s gun policy. One of those on the call was St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay. “I think we need to ban military assault-style weapons, I think we need to ban these extended magazines, and I think that bullets that pierce armor should be banned as well,” the mayor said.
Slay says the Vice President talked about the recent shooting in Connecticut and how the nation needs to look at mental health issues, violent movies and video game influences that might be playing a role in mass shootings.
The mayor also suggested tightening the background-check procedure and begin prosecuting those who lie about their backgrounds.
