St. Louis, Mo. (KMOX). With all the candy canes and cookies, you may be worried about what your child is eating over the holidays.
SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center pediatrician Dr. Heidi Sallee says it’s okay to let kids enjoy the holidays with some extra treats, especially if you’re going to a few parties.
But Sallee cautions against going overboard. “If they’re going for the second or third cookie, or that fourth cookie, or something, ask, well, are you really still hungry? That can help them tune into what their physical needs are better.”
Sallee says if possible, balance out any extra junk they may be eating this time of year with extra activity.
