BELLEVILLE, IL (KMOX) - A S.A.R.A.A. Alert was issued this morning for a missing Belleville child and cancelled two hours later.

Belleville police say the child and her alleged kidnapper were taken into custody around 1 a.m. and that the baby is OK.

Our earlier story:

It began just before midnight last night when police say Deantonio Best, 23, of South 72nd Street in Belleville took 3-month-old Demiyah Best and a vehicle belonging to Demiyah’s mother without her permission.

Demiyah is described as a black female with brown hair and brown eyes. She weighs 15 pounds and was wearing a white one-piece outfit with the words “My First Christmas” printed on the front. Deantonio Best is a black male, 6’01″ tall and weighing 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red Wendy’s work uniform with black pants, black shoes, and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The two are believed to be in a white Mercury Marquis with an Illinois license plate and the number P528907.
